This I believe

This I believe, You should speak happiness everyday of your life. I have been going to church now regularly for about ten years. One thing that has really stuck with me is being able to manifest what kind of day I will have.

Before I started going to church, I was the kind of guy that would wake up, have a cup of coffee, and depending on the first encounter I had with the outside world for the day I was usually in a good mood. Sometimes though, I would open the front door and the world would put me in a terrible mood, for example, getting in your car and finding out that you left the lights on and now your battery is dead.

I have learned that it isn't what happens in everyday life, but it is how you handle everyday life. The first thing I try to do every morning is to smile, even before the coffee, yea that's a little hard to believe I know but its true. Also I make sure to speak positive and happy to my family in my household, for example, If you get out of bed and your going down the hallway, and suddenly you step on that brand new jumbo sized building block that your five year old left on the floor, instead of swearing take a deep breath and be thankful that it wasn't a steamy pile of... You can use your own imagination at this point.

I have found that 98% of the time if a person thinks happy they will be happy. I think Phil Robertson says it best, Happy, Happy, Happy.

The first Hunt

It was November 17th 20013, My son Triston and I decided we were going to try our luck in the tree stand on the second day of the season.
This would be Triston's first hunt, and just to let you know, he is only six. When we woke up at deer camp that morning the wind was blowing around 40-45 mpg. Usually a hunter would not try to hunt a deer in that kind of wind, but I wasn't about to make my sons first hunting trip a bad one, so I decided to take him to the stand anyway.
We got situated in the stand at about 9:30 am, the stand was strapped to a tall oak tree that was big enough around the wind wouldn't cause it to sway.
We sat there for about an hour and I could tell that Triston was getting a little anxious to see some deer, and with the wind blowing the way it was I didn't think that we would see at all so I let him use the grunt, and the rattle bag to pass some time. The boy blew the grunt and worked the rattle bag just as good if not better than I ever had. We continued to hunt for another twenty minutes, and then decided that we would try again the following day. As we were packing our equipment into the bag, Triston spots this eight point coming towards the tree stand and says " Dad... Buck... Shoot!!." I looked down just in time to see the deer running underneath the stand, I got the cross hairs on him at about 75 yards out. I pulled the trigger and the deer fell.
This was all Tristons hunting trip and trophy, if it wasn't for him this buck would not have been taken that day in November, I would have went home if he wasn't with me because of the windy conditions. All I did that day was pull the trigger he done the rest, and that's my trophy.
